"Sweet Home 11" Finds A Sweet Home

 Sweet Home 11

This last weekend I sold one of my favorite paintings, Sweet Home 11 to the Thomas family.  I had just gotten it back from the Frisco Art In The Atrium Show and my wife and I were actually trying to figure out where we were going to put it in our new house.  Well, I don't have to worry about that anymore....it has found a brand new home in an Airstream trailer.  I really can't think of a cooler place for it to be.  I think it has found it's sweet home!  The Thomas family even sent me a few pictures of it hanging up.  I love it when my customers/collectors send me pics of my artwork in their spaces. Now Sweet Home 11 will be traveling the country....I'm kind of jealous!

Tumbleweed TexStyles Is Born!

I have a little announcement to make.  My friend Brian and I have started a t-shirt business! The company name is Tumbleweed TexStyles. Yes, this is probably why I've been slacking on the artwork on the blog lately.  We are very excited about this little venture though.  We have one shirt design out so far with more in the works.  Most all of our shirts are going to focus on Texana, which is something we have a passion for. Our first shirt is the Texas Secede shirt.  It's all in fun....no radical political stuff here.  The design was hand drawn by me a few months ago.  We have had a lot of great feedback from the shirts....it's really cool to see a drawing go from paper to a real shirt!  So cool!  If you can't tell, I'm really excited about this!

Tumbleweed TexStyles has:
1) an ETSY shop
2) a website - http://www.tumbleweedtexstyles.com/
3) a Facebook page
4) a twitter account

I would love for all my Junky Trinket followers to check out our shirts and please follow us on Facebook and Twitter.  It would mean a lot to have your support......also pass this on to the favorite Texans in your life!

Dress Paintings For My Daughter's Room

New artwork!  Well, not exactly by choice but more of what I was asked to do.  We found the frames at a thrift store for $2 each.  They had some hideous flowers painted on the canvas board inside the frames.  I painted gesso on the canvas to cover the images.  I then drew and painted the various dresses on the canvas.  We decided to keep it simple.  I think they turned out pretty good.  The ladies the house are happy with them so I guess I did alright.

New Artwork Available In The Etsy Shop! .........Finally

What a blogging slacker I am!  Pitiful. I have been fairly busy lately and I haven't gotten much done in the old art department.  I hope to pick it up soon.  One thing I did want to mention is that I have put 9 of my acrylic transfers in my Etsy shop.  I'm finally getting around to this on my last day of summer.......go figure.  Each piece is original and one of a kind.  I hope to knock out quite a few more of these in the upcoming weeks.  I also plan to have a little announcement to make in the next week or so about another venture I've been working on...I'm really excited about it so stay tuned.
