New Acrylic Photo Transfers on Collaged Old Paper

Texan Motel - Raton, New Mexico

Style Station - Waco, Texas

I finally had some time time today to create some art and I pretty much went all out.  I created 8 new pieces!  They are all 7.25 x 7.25 acrylic transfers on collaged ephemera.  I am using poplar wood blocks for the base instead of canvas.  I'm hooked on these blocks and may never do another collage on a canvas.  All eight are unique and I still have to rub the paper off of three of them....so I still have a few surprises left.  The images will look familiar.  Most are photographs that I've taken in the past.  I am really digging this right now.  Expect to see a bunch of these in the near future.

Silver Spur Sign Holga and Excuses

Silver Spur - 24" x 36" acrylic - Available

I've had some people ask me how big the actual Silver Spur sign is in real life.  Well, here ya go.  It's actually just a small little boot hanging off the side of one of the main sign poles.  The above pic was taken with the Holga.  Sorry the posts have been few and far between...I'm wrapping up another school year and we are about to move.  My time is pressed......but believe me during this little hiatus I've been envisioning some future projects, so that may interest some of you.

Album Cover Update

I'm almost finished with the album cover for Dillon Myers. Here is a sneak peek.  A few more small details and we'll be done!  This photo doesn't do the true colors justice.  I'll get some quality photos when it is complete.

New Work In Progress - Album Cover

Above is an image of a current piece that I'm doing for an ex-student's album cover.  Dillon is a very talented singer songwriter that is looking to break through into the Texas music scene.  I collaged some old paper on a 12 x 12 cradled hardboard and did an acrylic transfer of the water tower.  I still have some painting and a few finishing touches to do before we call this one finished.  I'll keep you posted on the album art and the album release.

Holga Prints On Canvas

Above is a look at some of my Holga prints that I had printed on canvas.  I have been wanting to do this for a while and finally got around to it.  These are 12 x 12 on gallery wrapped canvas.  I think they look pretty sharp if you ask me.

Cinco de Mayo - Mateo's Salsa

Fellow Texans, do yourself a favor on this beautiful Cinco de Mayo and go get some Mateo's Salsa. It is made right here in Frisco, Texas.  In my opinion it's one of the better salsas you can buy in the stores.....and yes, I'm a salsa aficionado.  In other news, there will be new artwork on the horizon.  We are in the process of selling our house and buying a new one....so my time has been limited.  New work to come....I promise!  In the meantime.....grab some Julio's chips and Mateo's salsa and enjoy.  Mateo, if you are out there?  I'll be your blogging spokesperson if you need one!
